Description

The 14th goal, Sinus Iridium, is a lunar feature that is included in the Lunar 100. Sinus Iridium, also known as the Bay of Rainbows, is located on the near side of the Moon and is known for its unique horseshoe shape, with a prominent mountainous rim enclosing a relatively flat floor. It is believed to be the remnants of an ancient impact basin that has been partially filled with lava flows, giving it its distinct appearance. Sinus Iridium has been visited by lunar mission Apollo 17 mission in 1972.
